Faiz-e-Hakimi Project, Darasah, Cairo, Egypt

Cairo is a major place of pilgrimage for the Dawoodi Bohra community.

A serai was proposed by the community which will provide accommodation during the pilgrimage tour for the members of the community. The project is conceived as a hotel with facilities for community activity.

The site is located on the edge of the historic Fatimi city of Cairo in the Darrasah area.

A.Jivanjee Architects were appointed as architects. The building comprises of 4 levels with bedrooms lounges and utilities at each floor. At basement level there is a large garden courtyard a large dining hall, seminar and lecture theater and offices surround this courtyard.

Great care has been taken on the elevation detailing on all sides. Inspiration has been taken from traditional Cairo architecture.
